About Noah Corbett

I am an Aerospace Engineering(BEng) graduate from Teesside University. I achieved a 2:1 in my degree. I currently work for Senior Aerospace Thermal Engineering as a Junior Special Process Engineer. In my final year project (dissertation) I based my project on the 'Thermal Stress Analysis of the Space Shuttle Upon Re-entry to the Earth's atmosphere. During my project I used different software packages in order to model the Space Shuttle and then simulate its re-entry conditions. When modelling the Space Shuttle I used the CAD package Solidworks, in this I individually modelled the fuselage and wings to life size dimensions of the Space Shuttle. Then I grouped the individual parts together in order to create a model that could be used for CFD and stress analysis. I then imported the model onto Ansys Workbench. When using this software I meshed the model and then created a boundary area so that an accurate simulation could be set up. After this was achieved I changed the velocity of the air in the X and Y components to reflect the correct Entry angle and entry velocity.From this I gained data that could be compared to existing sources. Aside from University I like to engage in sporting activities, this can range from going to the gym or playing football on a weekend. I also enjoy playing video games as a way of creating a work-life balance.
