About Noah Cuevas

My four years of undergraduate study pushed me into becoming curious of the physical world. In my core classes, I learned to think critically and logically to solve a problem- whether it be from an ideal perspective or a realistic application. One area of study I excelled and enjoyed the most is the study of moving bodies, material science & behavior, and failure mechanisms. During this time, I applied fundamental engineering concepts into a laboratory setting. From building simple circuits, to modeling Hooke’s Law, aerodynamic performance, and stress-strain behavior, I became more competent and confident in the fundamental courses of Mechanical Engineering. I enjoy modeling on Solidworks to convey my ideas to my colleagues. My five Solidworks certifications, the most notable one being the Certified Solidworks Professional (CSWP) certification for Mechanical Design, has assisted me in becoming a fast, yet robust drafter to illustrate my designs in a quick manner. During the year of 2021, I spent my summer at Carlisle Interconnect Technologies, where I learned critical structures of the manufacturing industry and how cost and quality of products is implemented in everyday operations. During my time at the company, I performed qualification testing for RF connectors, root-cause analyses and attended daily meetings to find ways in improving performance and processes of the filter connector production line. As of this moment, I’m proud to be working in the department of Research & Development for Industrial Filtration at K&N Engineering, Inc. As a R&D Engineer, I am actively designing to manufacture innovative products for both K&N and its customer, while testing/analyzing new and existing products. My professional goals for the near future is taking and passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, become experienced with 3D Printing by the end of 2024, and receive the CSWE certification by mid 2025.
