About Noah Horwatt

Back in freshman year of high school, I started volunteering at a local nursing home with my grandmother. Through this opportunity, I got to interact with residents, play games with them, and listen to their stories. The one thing most residents had in common was they were experiencing mental and physical pain. Every time I visited, I dedicated my time and effort to put a smile on their faces. This experience has led to my growing passion for working in healthcare. In high school, I was in LOVE with math and science, especially calculus and biology. How can I mix healthcare, math, and science into a career? During my senior year of high school, I knew I needed to go to college for engineering, specifically biomedical engineering. Through my education at Pennsylvania State University, I've got to work on numerous projects. For example, my freshmen year I got to work in a team of 5 to create a line-following robot. This project involved coding in MATLAB, developing a 3D chassis in Autodesk Inventor, wiring, and presenting our final model to the class. Now, I'm a 4th year student dual majoring in Biomedical and Mechanical engineering. I am looking for an internship or full-time job in either biomedical or mechanical engineering. To this day, I'm extremely passionate about helping others. In any job I may have, it is my goal to make sure no one is defined by their circumstances.
