About Noah Kahan

Hello!My name is Noah Kahan and I just completed my Master in Urban Planning degree from Harvard University's Graduate School of Design. I'm now looking for what's next!My passion for urban planning began when I was an undergraduate student at Wesleyan University where I worked with the local transit district in Middletown, Connecticut to redesign a bus route and provide faster and higher frequency service from the downtown area to a regional rail and transit hub.Over the summer of 2022, I interned at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey working on the Major Capital Projects team and focusing on the Port Authority Bus Terminal Replacement Program and the Cross Harbor Freight Program.And over the summer of 2023 I interned at Amtrak where I worked on the Northeast Corridor Service Line. I used qualitative and quantitative analysis to effectively develop a “Student Membership” program concept for college students and young people to better afford travel along the Northeast Corridor. In doing so, I got to strategize new ways to fill available seat miles on low-frequency routes in order to incentivize more young people to take the train, rather than intercity bus.
