About Noah Stengl
Hello and welcome to my LinkedIn page! My name is Noah, and I'm a lecturer in the Department of Political Science at UW-Madison, which is also where I earned my Ph.D.('24). I'm passionate about teaching, writing (and re-writing and re-writing), and discussing ideas. This year I taught five undergraduate courses of my own design, ranging from topics such as the role of deception in political life to Native American political thought. Some of my most formative professional experiences have been as a Writing Fellow, where I learned how to give kind and constructive feedback to peers, and as the managing editor of a scholarly journal, which taught me the value of organization, collaboration, and professional communication. Lately, I've become deeply invested in syllabus design, especially when it comes to scaffolding learning and devising more equitable and effective ways of assessing performance. I'm a voracious reader, often reading three or four books at a time; a daily runner, cyclist, and now swimmer (I'm training for a DIY Ironman at Devil's Lake-a "Devilman," if you will); a green thumb; and an enjoyer of all things outdoors (especially when paired with a cool beverage).
