Hello there! I'm Noah, currently a Senior in Undergrad at the University of Southern California (USC) studying Real Estate (RE) Development. Concurrently, I am also a RE Development intern at WOW, a leading express car wash developer in the Las Vegas metro area, and the listing manager of three (3) Airbnb rentals in El Salvador. At this point, with extensive education in the residential RE industry and experience in both the commercial and hospitality industries, my professional goals are in the hospitality space. Allow me to give you some more context.Half of my family is from the small Central American country of El Salvador. My family came from very modest means in fleeing the Salvadoran civil war, and in fact I very sparsely visited the country growing up - we have no close family there. Growing up we maintained very little of the culture - in fact all that I had to show for my heritage was the ability to speak Spanish and some knowledge of Salvadoran cuisine. I didn't have much interest in the country, and was raised in a family very supportive of my professional and financial ambitions here in the States. That was until recently. Around 2020, my grandmother (an inspiring woman that continues to work hard) had interest in purchasing a run-down house on a Salvadoran beach and flipping it so that we would have a nice place to vacation in the family's country of origin. With support from the family, I listed the property on Airbnb. Everything changed. The business proved fun, challenging, and not lucrative my American standards but absolutely ground-breaking for what we had anticipated. We put up a couple more listings on the beach, and the business grew. Over the past couple years I have enjoyed helping people make memories and have enjoyable experiences in our listings. The hospitality industry is fun! As I became more mature at USC, however, I also became more aware of El Salvador's economic situation. Although improving, there is a lot of progress to be made. This is where I want to come in. Tourism is such a powerful generator of wealth for a country, and El Salvador (and Central America at large) has so much potential. I want to be a part of this wave in my ancestral country.Managing these listings, I have learned how to deal with people, customer service, sales, logistical needs, communication, teamwork, and more. I want to grow these skills and make an impact in the country. Right now, they're dreams. In just a few years, they'll be goals. After that, they'll be the endpoints of plans.
