About Noam Baumatz

Noam Baumatz is the CEO and co-founder of Noga Therapeutics, a company focused on developing gene therapies for rare genetic diseases, specializing in genetically engineered macrophages from stem cells. His journey into biotech was inspired by personal tragedy; in 2017, his daughter Noga was diagnosed with a rare immunodeficiency disorder and sadly passed away in January 2019. This loss drove Noam to shift from healthcare practice to biotech innovation. Noam’s background includes a degree in science from Brighton University and studies in Chinese medicine in the UK. Early in his career, he treated addiction and HIV patients at Lambeth Hospital in London, showcasing his commitment to vulnerable populations. After returning to Israel, he led the complementary medicine unit at Sheba Hospital for 13 years and founded Beit Marpe, a chain of clinics in Tel Aviv that foster a community for both practitioners and patients, where he also treats his acupuncture patients. Noam is also deeply involved in public advocacy and education. He serves on the board of Bubble Care, a nonprofit supporting those with primary immunodeficiencies in Israel, and continues to volunteer at Sheba Hospital, treating patients affected by war and other crises.
