About Nobuko Aoki

Nobuko Aoki is currently serving as the Manager of JR Central’s Business Promotion Division, where she is committed to leading the company’s new endeavor of implementing a customer loyalty program through the introduction of data-driven marketing strategies for Shinkansen and conventional railway line users. Prior to the position, she was Executive Director of the International High-Speed Rail Association (IHRA), successfully leading the non-governmental organization contributing to the further development of HSR around the world by promoting international cooperation. Under her leadership, the IHRA Forum 2022 in Nagoya, Japan, was projected and carried out successfully, uniting hundreds of global participants and enhanced comprehension of the fundamental aspects of HSR and its socio-economic impact. Her extensive experience within rail business also includes leading JR Central’s inbound tourism initiative, proposing foreign tourists to experience railway-based travel in Japan, serving as the secretary to the Chairman Emeritus, Yoshiyuki Kasai, who played a pivotal role in establishing global recognition of Japan’s Shinkansen and SCMAGLEV, and the secondment to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she contributed to strengthening US-Japan economic cooperation through environmentally friendly transportation polices.
