In my current role, responsibilities comprise of effectively managing the core IT systems of the Service. This includes overseeing vital components such as email messaging, Internet infrastructure, on premise data centre, SAN Storage, server-side systems, and applications. Moreover, I am entrusted with managing, configuring, and maintaining our cloud environments. As a Global Administrator for both Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365. My duties extend to monitoring and up-keeping server-side and cloud systems, as well as our Citrix remote access solution. This involves managing availability, patching, database operations, and capacity. I also oversee critical tasks like data backup, disaster recovery, business continuity testing, and Paxton Door Access Control. Additionally, I play a pivotal role in system procurement and planning for server system replacements. A fundamental aspect of my role is providing support in the absence of the Network Administrator. This entails managing and configuring network infrastructure, LAN switching, routing, network security, and Wi-Fi. My skill set includes management and supervisory skills. Notable achievements include being lead on the organization's attainment of Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards from the Federation against Software Theft (FAST) for excellence in software license management back in 2005. I played a pivotal role in the introduction of BCS professional group membership for the ICT team. Presently, I oversee the coordination of new members; and actively promote IT professionalism within the service. Throughout my career, I have spearheaded numerous successful projects as a lead engineer. Some noteworthy endeavours include implementing a Citrix remote access solution, active directory domain and exchange upgrades, firewall upgrades, establishing an onsite data centre with SAN storage, introducing and configuring GovRoam (a PSBA Wi-Fi roaming solution for Public Sector organizations), and orchestrating the migration to an Office 365 hybrid cloud environment.
