I believe in Gender equality and Gender neutrality. All genders are equal as made by nature however human kind with their pre-set notions feel one or the other as superior or inferior to other. Dealing with matters pertaining to Sexual Harassment at workplace, it was observed that anyone can be harassed (irrespective of their gender) so anyone can be harasser also. Harassment is a gender neutral subject. Moreover, most of the time, people don't even know that what they are doing/saying or any act of them causes harassment to other. I believe Sexual harassment is not limited to any gender however the Act of 2013 provided by Govt. of India is not a gender neutral law. Indian Law makers and judiciary started giving equal treatment to all genders with enactments of Acts like The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 etc.however, acceptance by society is still far away. So being a POSH Trainer and consultant, I believe in educating all genders to: What is Sexual Harassment? Difference between sexual harassment and other Harassment, How not to be a harasser, Laws and remedies not limited to Sexual Harassment at workplace Act but which are available to all irrespective of their gender, Additionally helping Companies in framing Gender Neutral Policies against harassment faced by any employee specifically Sexual Harassment. In order to ensure equal participation and equal opportunity at work, it is extremely important to curb discrimination based on the gender which can be achieved by framing of gender neutral policies by the companies.
