About Nora A.

Utilizing compassionate listening and communication skills that reflect a person-centered and collaborative approach, I use a poststructural transformative social work stance focused on forming authentic and transparent relationships with clients that highlight their strengths and guide them through challenges. My professional passion is to provide meaningful support, particularly for those with lived experience of houselessness, mental health, and/or Substance Use Disorder who are also in need of achieving and maintaining holistic well-being, by providing services that pull from interdisciplinary perspectives. As an avid justice worker and people person, with experience in case management with children and adults with myriad intellectual, developmental, physical, and mental health disabilities, I recognize and honor the healing potential of "being with" clients, families, and communities, and using an intersectional feminist and harm reduction framework, in an ethical, values-focused, and trauma-informed manner. My goal is to lean on the relational, profound, and generative when working within and critically dismantling harmful systems. Constantly reflecting on my potential privilege living in an oppressive systems world I strive to employ an anti-oppressive lens and seek to maintain cultural humility to foster understanding and egalitarian relationships with clients and colleagues alike, as well as actively in my professional advocacy work.
