Background

About Nora Cyrus

The basics: I'm an experienced, highly driven and caring professional with a proven track record of implementing various projects in international development cooperation and technology. Much of my work has focused on gender equality, including applying feminist principles such as intersectionality and participation in research studies and project implementation, as well as on digital transformation for the common good (such as using and creating inclusive AI, open data for governance, barrier-free platforms, citizen‘s e-services). What drives me: I have a strong desire to contribute to changing entrenched and discriminating and unjust power structures, especially those rooted in gender dynamics. I am also very interested in the role that technology plays in positive societal change - and the risks associated with discriminatory/biased tech. Having lived & worked in different cities across continents, I have moreover become very excited about urbanism and how cities can thrive and be(come) livable for all of their dwellers. How I work: I have a hands-on way of working. I also believe in the value of applying feminist principles within organizations, and within my own work. I am a team player, I try to listen closely and actively, and I truly care about the people I work with. I greatly enjoy working with people of all walks of life - be this through facilitating workshops, group discussions, interviews, or retreats. I also enjoy doing deep qualitative research to get to the gist of things and derive key insights from data. Get in touch with me if you want to connect & talk about possible opportunities for working together.
