About Nora Hanke

I am an energetic conservationist offering expertise in citizen science, project management, research, writing, editing, avian identification and monitoring, plant propagation, back-country and wilderness navigation and living, and plant-based diets for planetary and human health. I am experienced in small business management, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, and I leverage cartographic and geoprocessing skills using ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online. My GIS experience includes manipulating vector data, and processing and analysing raster data, including use of Spatial Analyst and ModelBuilder. I have studied biostatistics and used R Studio to independently perform an analysis of biological data. After the pandemic shutdowns began in 2020, I held a variety of temporary roles. My work included research, GIS analysis, map-making and writing for a regional planning commission, data management and record updating in the NH Department of Environmental Services Drinking Water and Groundwater Bureau, research and outreach for a regional solar company's Low-Moderate Income Community Solar program, and being a foreign-language interpreter for the Decennial Census. Since late 2022 I have been employed as Program Manager at Monadnock Sustainability Hub, a nonprofit in SW New Hampshire focused on reducing and eliminating greenhouse gas emissions from the region. This position calls on a variety of my skills including project and event management, research, writing, and working with volunteers. In my spare time I study birds in the field, and perform volunteer work for a large citizen science project. The latter includes map-making (in ArcPro).
