In Aromatic complexes Benzene, Toluene and Xylene (BTX) is formed in a catalytic reformer with Naphtha feedstocks. As side product olefins are formed as well. The number of olefins in benzene, toluene or para-xylene is measured in a so called bromine index. With the help of the Clariant acid activated clay catalysts the bromine index of BTX is reduced down to levels which are accepted by market specifications. Acid wash color is reduced as well. Over the years I have worked with most of the major refineries and petrochemical companies which have production of BTX components. This experience helps us to solve most of our customers challenges and optimize clay catalyst cycle life. Further we are selling adsorbents for the final purification of Jet Fuel or Kerosene. The adsorbents help to achieve the specifications for JFTOT and MSEP (water separation index) and removal of color as well.
