About Norm Fankell

My career in media has been an exhilarating ride. I’ve worked with great people in all types of professions and learn what they do. There's nothing more fulfilling than launching new products at international auto show. nor a bigger adrenaline rush than following first responders intro emergency situations to demonstrate new life saving techniques. or more sobering than visiting developing countries while documenting the need for critical hospital resources and healthcare needs. I had a lot of fun as broadcast news journalist, a TV weatherman and have produced hunting and fishing shows. These are just a few examples of my adventures that covered a 40-plus year career. I am grateful to every single one of those experiences and people who made them possible. Now I have obtained my dream job at the perfect time in my career. For a majority of my life I've known how to swing a hammer. I worked on farms and construction, built my own additions and generally can fix most anything. Now, to keep me out of trouble, I get to combine my media knowledge and hand-on experience to market home building and renovation materials for the Northville Lumber Company and the Novi Home Design Center. Life is good. On the side, I spend time with my amazing wife, bike ride, create projects in my wood shop, umpire little league baseball, play senior softball, brew my own beer, make my own wine, and ponder all the activities I’ve yet to add to my bucket list.
