About Norma Harrison

Norma Harrison's teaching, research and consulting interests are in the areas of innovation and technology management, sustainable supply chains, the globalization of operations, performance improvement and best practices. She has published numerous articles in academic journals and refereed proceedings, and continues to serve on journal editorial review boards. Norma has been involved in global benchmarking projects within both service and manufacturing industries for the past 25 years. Since 1990, she has organized major conferences in production and operations management, and she chaired the Production and Operations Management Society International Conference in Sydney, 12-14 Dec 2017 (see http://pomssydney2017.com). In addition to consulting in private industry, Norma has worked in collaboration with Australian State and Federal governments and Chinese industry to conduct innovation audit programs and reviews of international best practices. She has served as a Council Member in the NSW Asia Business Advisory Council; Governing Board Member of the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ); and a Member of the Council on the Cost & Quality of Government (NSW). Norma has been President and Member of the Board of Directors of the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI) and the Asia-Pacific DSI. She has been an elected Board Member of the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS). She is also Member of the Academy of Management (AoM), European Operations Management Association (EurOMA) and the Australian & NZ Academy of Management (ANZAM).
