I am a Legal Studies/Paralegal Program Faculty Member and Legal Services Chair at Madison Area Technical College. The Legal Studies/Paralegal Program is American Bar Association approved. Academic excellence is the keystone of this Program. Students in the Legal Studies/Paralegal Program build in-demand skills necessary to prepare for a legal career. More than 90% of Madison Area Technical College legal studies/paralegal graduates are employed or furthering their education within six months of graduation. The Legal Studies/Paralegal Program offers: FLEXIBILITY • Both full-time and part-time studies • A combination of day and evening classes • A combination of traditional, online, hybrid, classroom live, WebEx and condensed classes • Block scheduling which eliminates the need to travel to campus every day • Admission into the Program in the fall and spring RIGOR • Instructors who are experienced paralegals and lawyers • An interactive classroom setting • Demanding practical assignments • Internship experiences providing hands-on experience QUALIFIED GRADUATES Students learn in the Legal Studies/Paralegal Program: • Critical thinking skills, legal ethics and professionalism • Legal research, writing and litigation support skills • Legal document preparation and organization • Case file management and maintenance • Client interviewing and service techniques Our students graduate with the skills and knowledge they need to launch a career in a wide range of legal areas and interests.
