About Norma Mancini Stevens

Throughout my over 15 years experience as a trauma therapist, I learned that no matter how skilled or well trained I was, there were always a few clients where we could not access the underlying wounds beneath their inner structures of protection. So in 2019, I started my journey with psychedelic medicine, because my intuition sensed that these medicines may a hold key for better treatment for these clients. I started with the MAPS Therapist Training in 2019 and have since completed many trainings for CompassPathways, Beckley and more. Now, I have the privilege to serve as Lead Therapist and Clinical Researcher at Sunstone Therapies for clinical trials in psychedelic assisted psychotherapies using psilocybin, MDMA, 5-MeO-DMT and ketamine to treat various conditions such as depression, PTSD, moral injury, demoralization and treatment resistant depression. I have had the privilege of working with specialized populations such as veterans and cancer patients. I am a Consultant therapist for MAPS and a Mentor for CompassPathways. One of my greatest preparations for working with psychedelic assisted therapies was my immersion into Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) starting in 2011. Many of the tenets and assumptions of IFS Therapy are parallel to psychedelic assisted therapy. I have completed all three levels of Internal Family Systems training including 6 week long training events with Richard Schwartz, Ph.D, developer of the model. I am a certified IFS therapist and Approved Consultant for IFS certification. I have also served as a program assistant in ten IFS trainings Levels 1-3. I have presented at IFS annual conferences and the Psychedelic Science Conference 2023 in Denver.
