About Norman Plotkin

Norman joined Jackson & Hertogs in 1987 and was made partner in February 2002. Throughout his career, Norman has been active in the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). Previously, he served as the editor of AILA's Gold Book, a resource for practising immigration lawyers in California and as co-editor of AILA's Western Region Directory for the Immigration Practitioner. He was also a liaison for the Northern California AILA chapter to both the legacy INS California Service Center and the US Department of Labor. In addition, Norman was a member of the national AILA/California Service Center liaison committee and previously served on the national AILA/Department of Labor liaison committee. He has also lectured at several venues, including national AILA conferences. Norman is listed in the International Who's Who of Business Lawyers and has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America guide since 2006. He was recently praised by his colleagues in the Chambers USA guide as one who provides "sound, tailor-made advice." He is fluent in Spanish. Norman retired from the practice of law at the end of 2023.
