About Nuala Ryan

I have 30 years experience in the Clinical Research industry with a proven ability to build, manage and lead productive clinical global teams to meet challenging stretch goals. I manage risk and pro-actively seek solutions to improve performance, process, quality and efficiency through cross functional partnership and team work. I consult on all aspects of clinical process management, with particular emphasis on feasibility, site selection/site networks, study start up and patient engagement. I also specialise in management and oversight of Public Private Partnerships that drive innovation, many of which are funded by the European Commission. I am passionate about patient engagement in the area of genomics and also patient involvement in all aspects of the drug development process from clinical trial protocol design to drug approval/reimbursement decisions. I have taken part in a Patient Education program run by the Irish Platform for Patient Organisations Science and Industry (IPPOSI) and EUPATI (cohort 8 2024/2025) to develop further in the way patients can get involved and to link with patient advocacy groups and patient experts around the country. I am on several steering committees and advisory boards as a patient advocate including the HPRA, HSE Research, Pharmacy Task Force, Future Neuro and Genomics Data Infrastructure Ireland project.
