The scientific and pedagogical work developed was disseminated by the scientific community through book chapters, articles in international and national journals with peer review, monographs, theses and reports, bioinformatics tools, oral communications and panel communications in national and international scientific meetings. He has participated in several research projects with competitive funding with emphasis on the project "CovTec", of which he was principal investigator and which validated saliva tests for the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 that are available as a clinical analysis service in the Laboratory - University Dental Clinic of the Portuguese Catholic University (certified by ERS:153243). In the same line, he is responsible for the project "SPRINT - Saliva For Precision Diagnosis" to develop new saliva tests for the non-invasive and personalized diagnosis and monitoring of prevalent oral pathologies such as caries, periodontal disease and oral cancer, contributing to the practice of Precision Dentistry and the improvement of Oral Health.
