Background
About Nur Greene
Nur is a creative thinker with a passion and professionalism for serving people and guiding them toward mental well-being and inner or collective happiness. Nur has experience working as a Case Manager and BA-level Counselor in an Outpatient clinic, and now working on implementing intermodal expressive arts therapy. She is a poet, an early childhood educator interested in emergent curriculum and Montessori philosophies. A performance artist interested in the impact of performance on the audience and participants alike, or performance used as inquiry. Researcher. Mother. Non-neurotypical. Hybrid. Nur's major ambition is to contribute to the field of mental health counseling and find the most effective methods in order to, ultimately, support those who struggle with trauma. She hopes her work as a therapist creates a better world for all of us to live in. Nur is an idealist, and believes that the cycle of trauma is something we can practically do something about. It is likely that it is also something that we all interact with or are affected by. Nur hopes to research the effects of expressive arts therapy, play, and creativity on the brain and its ability to function. She is passionate about using expressive arts therapy to change bodies and minds, neigh, the world. She hopes to find other like-minded individuals who aspire to create research that shows the healing effect of the arts. Most of all, she seeks co-workers who want to create economically sustainable, socially-just, life-changing organizations that support our communities' mental health from early childhood into late adulthood. She also hopes to find work experience that can continue to teach her how to offer mental health counseling to people who struggle to access it.
