About Nuria Lopez

Changing people's lives for a better future, that is my leitmotif! In my more than twenty years of professional life, I have worked in countries from three different continents: Europe, America and Asia. Both in the private and public sectors, or in international organisations such as the one where I work now, my main motivation has always been to give visibility to all those questions that can enhance people's lives: from human development of indigenous communities in Panama to electoral and citizen consultation processes in Latin America as part of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), as well as global climate change as part of the European Center for Medium Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), or even the development of public infrastructures in Thailand together with the Embassy of Spain in the Asian country. I have designed well thought out integrated communication strategies and implemented communication plans for raising awareness, advocacy and resource mobilisation. Besides, I have a wide experience in media relations, digital communication (web, social media and other digital tools) and communication for development (supporting public institutions), with focus on different audiences such as donors, international organisations, non-governmental organisations, public institutions, or specific groups such as youth, women and indigenous peoples. I also bring experience in project and contract management, tender processes and monitoring and evaluation of communication results. I have the ability to work and live in different environments and with different cultures since I have worked in/with countries from America, Asia and Europe. I have very good problem solving and creativity skills, a growth mindset, big autonomy and capacity to learn and, a tendency to provide “out of the box” workable solutions.
