About Nyna Williams

Nyna Williams has decades of experience conducting and directing interdisciplinary research using a wide range of research methods. She provides thought leadership regarding patient and other stakeholder engagement in health-related behaviors, including health risk and protective behaviors, health insurance and provider choices, health care and treatment decisions, co-design of health care, and engagement in health-related research.Before joining Mathematica in 2008, Williams spent six years at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), first as a social science research analyst and then as director of the division that conducted formative consumer research and assessment research in support of CMS communication activities. Prior to joining CMS, she had 14 years of experience conducting health behavior research while holding academic and research positions at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the State University of New York College at Buffalo, the Institute for Community Research in Hartford, Conn, the University of Connecticut at Storrs, and the University of Hartford.She holds a Ph.D. in social psychology from Columbia University.
