Background
About Obed Dadzie
I work across marketing, strategic partnerships, sustainability frameworks, storytelling, and systems design at The Savannah Fruits Company, a global supplier of plant-based ingredients working directly with women across West Africa. For over 18 years, Savannah Fruits has built an operating model centred on increasing and extending value at source, with transparency embedded as a governance layer rather than an external reporting requirement. The company began with a direct-sourcing approach that organised fragmented women producers into cooperatives that today are not just groups of women but actual business entities that own and operate eco-friendly, community-run post-harvest centres, fully integrated with digital traceability from parkland to shelf. We piloted 52 of these centers to test how a decentralized modernization framework would operate in Shea landscapes, and the results are exactly why we are scaling to 157+ across Ghana, Togo, and Côte d’Ivoire.
