About Obulakrishna Bandlapalli

I’m a system architect in the field of Railway signalling applications with 18+ years of experience. As a system designer in Medha, successfully completed the design and development of an Indigenous ATP system TCAS, TPWS (ETCS L1), SSBPAC (D) and Electronic Interlocking systems. I have significant experience in the complete product development life cycle, i.e from system conceptual stage to requirement development, design, verification & validation, ISA certification process (SIL-4), installation & commissioning, performance monitoring (field trial analysis) & maintenance activities. Worked as a project lead for design and development of Radio Block Center (RBC) and On-Board Unit (OBU) subsystems for ETCAS Level-II. Currently working as a RAMS Manager for Main Line (ETCS, IXL) and Mass transit (CBTC) applications at Siemens Mobility, Pune, India I made very important contribution to accomplish the introduction of an indigenous ATP system for Indian Railways. I have played major role to evolve TCAS requirement specification, system architecture & interoperable requirements in collaboration with RDSO & other TCAS development vendors. Application data preparation process is standardized to perform FAT & SAT to conduct the field trials in TCAS territory. At an early stages of my career involved in the software development of Object Controller (OC) and Panel Processor subsystems of first Indigenous Electronic Interlocking System (SIL-4) in India. Specialties: Safety critical system design to meet CENELEC SIL-4 standards System Requirements Elicitation & System Architecture Design Work experience in CENELEC standards (EN50126, EN50128 and EN50129) System Safety Analysis & Safety Case document preparation Technical support and interact with Software and Hardware teams to ensure the design fits into the intended architecture Independent Safety Assessment activities like Audits, process management and certifications System Installation & Commissioning, field trials and field failure analysis Co-ordination with customer (RDSO/Railway) to perform field trials and to obtain final product approval.
