About Odette Guillermo

I am a facade designer professional with 15 years experience in the facade design. I have acquired my knowledge having worked on diverse projects as part of a design team in the Dubai UAE, southeast asia, Australia and United States. I have a BS degree in Architecture from University of Santo Tomas in Philippines & a postgraduate degree in Sustainable Design in the Built Environment from University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia. My educational background allows me to have a core foundation in designing with sustainability in mind. It provides me with a firm understanding about the global issues of the environment and with respect to providing sustainable solutions with our industry partners as it relates to a diverse issues in facade design such as thermal efficiency, passive solar gains and daylighting to obtain the least possible carbon footprint in a building. I have had experience in assisting in preparation of ESD reports, Post-occupancy Evaluation reports, Risk Assessment reports and Life cycle assesments, specification writing, drawing peer review, assisted in preparation of field observation and due diligence reports. My expertise ranges from facade design for unitized curtainwall/ stick type curtainwall system/ windowall/ aluminium composite facades, facade design development in principle, die extrusion/gasket development and fabrication, documentation for different panel types for fabrication, EIFS systems, project documentation, PMUs, VMUs, material take-off, metal extrusion optimization, cost estimates, value engineering, project management, material procurement and CA work. Registered Architect in Philippines and working towards gaining reciprocity as a licensed professional in the US and Australia.
