About Ofelia Burns

I am a Continuous Improvement Leader and for the past 15 years I’ve been helping manufacturing organizations become more productive through implementation of lean tools, facilitation of continuous improvement events, lean training and problem-solving sessions. One of the things that I enjoy the most when working with cross functional teams, besides bringing colleagues’ ideas together to find solutions to problems, is working with people with different backgrounds, experiences, ideas, cultures, ages, and nationalities. During my years working in Continuous Improvement, I have been instrumental in transforming organizations improving productivity and employee morale and eliminating waste. Some examples of how I accomplished this are: • Acting as a change agent to influence employees of all levels to adopt a continuous improvement culture in an energetic, enthusiastic and respectful way. • Implementing lean manufacturing tools. • Facilitating continuous improvement events (Kaizen, VSM, SMED, TPM, 3P and 5s) and working with cross-functional teams to eliminate waste, reduce costs and improve processes. • Providing lean training and problem-solving sessions. • Utilizing value stream mapping technique to identify non-value-added activities and to improve production processes.
