About Oladejo Ahmodu

I am a bioinformatics enthusiast with keen interest in analysis of multi-omics data to identify novel therapeutics for human health challenges. I graduated from Lagos State University (LASU) with a First Class Honours (CGPA: 4.81/5.0) in Biochemistry and as the Best Graduating Student in the Faculty of Science, LASU. My undergraduate research experience with large set of biological data unveiled the profound insights that can be gained from data and subsequently prompted my career path as a bioinformatics research scientist. In quest to actualize my goal of becoming a bioinformatician, I am currently pursuing my PhD degree in Molecular Genetics and Genomics- Bioinformatics Concentration- at an R1 university in The United States: Wayne State University, on a fully-funded scholarship. While I devote time for research and self-development, I also actively volunteer for community services that advocate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). I am a pioneer ambassador of SDGs ACT LASU, a member of Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and an alumni of Millennium Fellowship Program organized by Millennium Campus Network (MCN) and United Nation Academic Impact (UNAI). These engagements have sharpened my leadership, communication, interpersonal, project management and networking skills, which would undoubtedly help me achieve success in my future endeavours. I am confident that my excellent academic records, research experience and leadership engagements coupled with my critical thinking and problem-solving skills make me a great fit for opportunities that involve genomic data analysis. When I am not occupied with data or community service, I am probably writing a poem or watching a movie.
