About Olga Babaev

I became interested in biomedical research during my first biology project in high school. In parallel to bachelor studies in pharmacy, I was investigating the regulation of neural activity by nitric oxide in the laboratory of neural circuits in Ben Gurion University in Israel. After receiving my bachelor diploma, I continued with neuroscience research at International Max Planck Research School for Neuroscience in Göttingen, Germany. Currently, I am a graduate student in the Department of Molecular Neurobiology at Max-Planck Institute of Experimental Medicine. My research aims to identify novel cellular and molecular targets for anxiety treatment. After graduation, I plan to become a researcher in the field of behavioral and circuit neuroscience and to study the neural regulation of behavior in health and disease. In the future, I aim to lead my own research group to enrich the current understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying neuropsychiatric conditions and to shape novel therapeutic approaches.
