Oliver Dunlap is a Principal and Shareholder at Bartko Pavia LLP, providing litigation, compliance and regulatory support to companies in the tech, life sciences and financial markets sectors. He enjoys hands-on work with clients, assisting with litigation risk assessment, mitigation and resolution (up to and including trial). Oliver has handled class action, antitrust, and mass tort products liability cases, general commercial disputes, internal investigations by state and federal authorities, and toxic tort and environmental litigation. He has also helped to resolve distributor and pricing agreements for clients, guided them in intellectual property licensing and litigation, and prides himself on efficiently resolving disputes while maintaining the highest ethical standards. Oliver has presented on e-discovery, data security and privacy issues, and has created related compliance guides and client handbooks on these subjects. He has published on issues from civil procedure, to use of bio-specimens and personal data, to wine law, and he has helped to author two bills in the California Senate. Given his broad-based experience, he is familiar with a wide range of regulatory schemes, including HIPAA, HITECH, MMSEA/MSP, FINRA, FCRA, FACTA, GLBA and COPPA. His CIPP certification is pending.
