About Oliver Hirsch

A former boss once described me as one of the most dedicated and reliable people he has ever worked with. I take pride in this assessment and try to showcase those qualities in my everyday tasks. I enjoy working with people, analyzing problems and to finding solutions. The aforementioned traits certainly help in this respect and I thrive on the positive feedback I receive from satisfied customers. At the same time, I am curious and not afraid of change. I discovered my love for biology in high school, but the longer I stayed in the lab, the more I realized that this was just not where I wanted to be in the long run. My passion for video games and dragon boat finally brought me on the path I pursue now. You wonder how that makes sense? Dragon boat showed me how much I like to be part of a team which works toward the same goal and where individual effort still has an impact. Video games brought me on my current career path, where the principles of a team sport apply: verifying scripts and translations in a certain language as part of a QA team who assures that users worldwide have a satisfying experience with the final product. But again, this was not an area I wanted to remain in forever. I wanted to make use of my education and that’s how I ended up in my current position. Now I can use my knowledge of lab procedures and combine it with my passion for working with people and finding solutions to everyday or more complex problems. I learned a lot in the last couple of years and developed new skills. I made a name for myself within the company and with clients for being that reliable person my former boss described me to be, the go-to guy for all sorts of information, be it technical or otherwise. Now I gravitate towards an area where my knowledge in- Molecular and cellular biology - Oncology - Immunology and - Neurosciences can be of more use than in my current position. I have set my eyes on clinical research and would like to connect with people in the field who would be willing to share their experience in the area with somebody looking for a new challenge.
