I am a Ph.D. candidate in the School of Earth Sciences at the Ohio State University. I conducted my Master's research in the Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences at Rutgers University, and I have a BS in Geology-Biology from Brown University. My strengths are in biological and geological sciences, though I have an extensive background in archaeology, as well. I have experience working in various laboratory, classroom, office, and field settings. My Ph.D. research involves paleoenvironmental reconstructions of Ohio's inland lakes based on modern and historical (pre-industrial) diatom assemblages. I will use these reconstructions to better understand how the lakes have been altered by agriculture and other pollution sources, and to determine the extent to which polluted lakes can reasonably be restored.
