Background
About Oliver Pratt
I am passionate about mental health, and have spent my professional career working alongside children to help them find ways to cope with the issues they face in their daily lives. My first experience in this field was with Tackling the Blues, a programme created by Everton in the Community that offers low intensity group interventions directly aimed at educating children about mental health. After this, I continued working with the EitC family as a schools support mentor on the 41 Goodison team, where I worked with at-risk children to help re-engage them in education. I am currently working as the Mental Health Transformation Officer at Bolton Wanderers in the Community, and I am responsible for providing year 6 pupils with the skills to guide them through the transition to secondary school whilst simultaneously supporting their mental health. In 2023, I graduated from a masters course in Sport, Physical Activity and Mental Health at Edge Hill university, and I have been delighted at the opportunities offered to me since graduation that have allowed me to have an active involvement in an area I am so passionate about. Some of my qualifications, achievements and skills include- Distinction in MSc Sport, Physical Activity & Mental Health - First class degree in BSc Sport and Exercise Psychology - Adult Mental Health First Aid trained - Youth Mental Health First Aid trained - First Aid trained - Designing two highly graded theory-based mental health interventions for older people and injured athletes as part of my undergraduate degree - Achieving an excellent grade on my dissertation that investigated how sports and physical activity influenced the mental health of university students - Sound understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
