About Oliver Ward

I have recently worked at Scanline VFX, where I successfully worked on two films - Meg 2: The Trench and DC’s The Flash. I was responsible for a variety of assets, including hero props, vehicles, buildings, environments, and more. My period at Scanline was straight after graduating from Norwich University Of The Arts, where I was very ambitious and worked extremely hard throughout my 3 years there. My ambitions went as far as single-handedly creating an entire 2-minute short film in Unreal Engine. This put all of my skills to the test: from time management to lighting, modeling, and so much more. During this time at University, my work was reshared by platforms such as Adobe Substance, ArtStation, The Rookies and Marmoset Toolbag to showcase both my work and their software. As well as this, I was approached to write blogs and article interviews by places such as the popular site 80.LVL, where I demonstrated my approach and methods to the lookdev and texturing pipeline. My time at university was concluded by winning TIGA’s Graduate Artist Of The Year 2022, in which I won out of the hundreds of universities and thousands of students around the UK. I continued this same driven and hard-working approach when I started working at Scanline VFX, allowing me to become a core member of the team and work on key assets.
