Railway Surfacing is an industry I have been fortunate enough to be involved in for the last 20+ years. Whether it is building railways, building teamwork and morale or building people’s professional competencies, the rail industry has allowed me to do something I love, which is striving to build new things. Track machine operators who start their careers with an open mind, a willingness to work and be part of a team will find themselves in charge of modern rail bound machinery worth many millions of dollars that are critical to the efficiency of a rail network. This work is always undertaken in an environment where safety considerations and time constraints play just as big a role as that of maintaining a machines output. As an experienced track machine operator I am skilled in a wide range of operating specialities such as team leadership, safeworking, machine operation, machine maintenance and railway design. These skills are critical to the success of the railway surfacing operation.
