About Olivia Biles
As an urban farmer and owner of Harvest Haven, I'm dedicated to bridging the gap in our local food system. My journey began with a foundation in Environmental Biology and Horticulture, complemented by plant genetics research through the NSF REU program along with two study abroad opportunities in Costa Rica and the Galapagos Islands. I've honed my skills through volunteering with the Watershed Committee of the Ozarks and Ozarks Food Harvest, interning at Urban Roots Farm, and earning my Master Gardener certification in 2020. Currently, I'm an active member of the Woodland Heights Neighborhood Association, proudly representing #northsidepride.Harvest Haven cultivates fresh produce on two plots: one in Springfield's West Central neighborhood and the other on my childhood farm in Rogersville, Missouri. Our bounty is shared with the community at the C-Street City Market.I'm excited to announce that I'm fundraising to open a market corner store, which will offer locally sourced agricultural products.
