About Olivia Clark

I am currently a freshman at Seattle Pacific University in rainy Seattle, WA. I am studying Physiology on the pre-med track, and hope to get into medical school after graduation! I currently play viola in Seattle Pacific University's orchestra group on a scholarship! I also work part-time at Gwinn dining hall, the dining hall on campus. I love the outdoors, science, music, and my dog! I attended Henrietta Lacks Health and Bioscience High School in Vancouver, WA, which is a STEM-based skills high school. It was such a unique opportunity and it allowed me to take classes such as biotechnology, and nursing theory and skills in high school. My teachers were geniuses and true inspirations, and many of them worked in the medical or science field before teaching. It was because of my amazing school and teachers that I was able to discover my love and passion for biology and patient care. I received CNA training for 1 1/2 years through my high school in what we called the "Nursing Program", but unfortunately was not able to attend clinicals as planned due to COVID-19. The program changed my life in so many ways. It completely opened my eyes to patient care, and ever since, I have dreamed of becoming a healthcare worker. Volunteering is a very important part of my life. I was a member of my high school's National Honor Society which allowed me to give back to my community as much as I was able. I know it's not as much as some, but I accumulated over 60 hours of volunteering in just one year of membership. I hope to add to that number this year :) I hope to be successful during my time on the pre-med track, looking forward to volunteering and clinical opportunities the most, to further explore and feed my passion for helping others!
