About Olivia Crabtree

Hey everyone, I’ve always adored being outside and have had a passion for conservation in all forms. I’ve been fortunate enough in my life that both my personal and professional life reflect this about me. As a high school student with a drive for the outdoors, I volunteered over the summer with Montana Conservation Corps and helped maintain and construct trail systems through our public lands while living out of a backpack. I’ve been a United States National Park Service park guide for the last 6.5 years, and have provided localized knowledge about volcanic geology, Hawaiian culture, and the natural history of the Hawaiian Islands to countless visitors from all over the world. This time has given me incredible experiences and opportunities too numerous to count in a short introduction. During the 2020 pandemic, I assisted with a staff shortage at ASM affiliates and filled in for archaeological surveys when I was recommended by my archaeology professor. I have been working with them off and on since helping with additional surveys, report preparation, and GIS data. When I’m not at work, you can find me doing art, hiking, gardening, or working on my aquariums. My favorite thing about my career so far has been working on teams with passionate and driven people out to make a positive difference.
