Background
About Olivia Davis
At the end of 2023, I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in English and Media & Communications at University of Canterbury. Currently, I am a kaiāwhina library assistant at UC, which has been a wonderful learning opportunity to discover how libraries operate and to contribute to the learning experience of other students. In both my role at UC and as a volunteer at Opawa Public Library, I have gained familiarity with customer service, library systems, finding resources and connecting and connecting people to the right ones. I worked at NumberWorks'nWords as a tutor for four years, where I have made an impact on students' learning and developed my communication and organisation skills. Since my promotion to senior tutor, I also performed team leadership and administrative duties. My greatest passion is learning, and helping others learn. I am studying to be a librarian, so I can connect people to information and support communities.
