About Olivia Firth

I'm a big believer that anyone is capable of learning anything with the right motivation and support. Learning is an emotional experience, with natural highs and lows. Understanding a student's learning experience has been the most motivating part of being a teacher. It has also led me to work really hard at crafting how I communicate my own understanding of complicated ideas. As a researcher, I am interested in understanding not only how people learn, but how they interact with new tools and services. With my background in qualitative research design and programming, I decided to pivot toward user experience research. Designing surveys and interview procedures to test the success and usability of is not unlike how we evaluate the success of lesson materials from the perspectives of both teachers and students.
