About Olivia Gronvall

Hi. My name is Olivia Gronvall. It’s nice to meet you! I’m a recent graduate from Miami University. I have a 3.85 GPA and have been on the college Dean’s List for three academic years so far. I've earned my Bachelor's in English Studies with a minor in Interactive Media Studies. I've acquired a Miami University "Writing for the Workplace" Microcredential as well. Currently, as I have just graduated in May 2023, I am looking for a paid internship position and/or a job. I intend for these positions to further help me explore what careers are best suited for my major and skillset, as well as gain good experience in the working field. Although I'd like to develop my apparent skills further, I’m also willing to explore opportunities that do not apply to my degree. I want to investigate as many kinds of jobs as possible, so I can better understand what I’d like to do and what I am best suited for. I’d love to try new things- STRENGTHS/INTERESTS I chose my major because my greatest strengths are writing and reading. I’ve also always enjoyed analyzing literature and sharing my findings with others, orally and in writing. As for a minor, I wanted something that’d complement my English major skills and make me more desirable as a worker. I’m curious about digital writing/rhetoric: I'm also wondering if the realm of Marketing or Editing/Publishing might be interesting for me-specifically copywriting. I am also interested in design-oriented fields as I enjoy arranging visual and textual media into a coherent and aesthetically pleasing product. Although I do not have much experience with the technical side of designing a website, I have recently learned the basics of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery. I also know the basics of using a variety of Adobe Suite products: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro. I'd appreciate the chance to further develop these various skills in the field. Additionally, I enjoy helping others understand a concept. I find joy in sharing knowledge with people and helping them learn something new. This is one of the reasons why I worked as a writing tutor at my campus’s tutoring center.
