About Olivia Johnson

Current climate science master's student at the Columbia Climate School in the Climate and Society program. Graduated from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service with a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (BSFS) in Science, Technology, and International Affairs, and a minor in Environmental Studies. Deeply passionate about communicating climate science to diverse audiences, making complex concepts accessible and engaging. Committed to promoting environmental justice, ensuring that vulnerable communities have the tools they need to be resilient and adaptable to environmental changes. Currently an Impact Scholar conducting research at the National Center for Disaster Preparedness to develop a prototypical tool that demonstrates relationships between disaster research and practice landscapes. Also currently on the Sustainability Team at Sun Life U.S, working to map the impacts of extreme heat events and wildfires on public health. Formerly a consultant for the Plastics and Material Science team under Private Sector Engagement at the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Engaged in state policy, technical analysis, human health, and environmental justice in pursuit of a more circular economy.
