About Olivia Mitchell

I was born and raised in rural West Tennessee. I love to travel and hike, and my goal is to visit all of the national parks in the United States, in which I have explored 12 so far. I volunteer regularly through my church/missions, and I'm passionate about helping others. I currently am working on completing my Doctor of Optometry degree. I love optometry! I help people gain a new perspective (literally), but what really gets me fired up is when I look into that small "window of the soul", that is the eye, a bigger picture comes into view. One of the neatest aspects of optometry is that it is not limited to just the eyes. The eye can be an indicator of the health of the rest of the body. How amazing is that! Now, I guess it is time to list all of my skills, but I have never been very good at talking about myself. Instead, I will list the standards that I believe should be met in each patient interaction. I believe every patient is unique and should be treated with personalized comprehensive care. I believe each patient should be met where they are: young, old, educated, uneducated, etc. I believe each patient should be treated with respect and compassion. I believe open communication is essential to a successful doctor-patient relationship. Lastly, I believe that I must continue to grow and evolve to provide exceptional care to each patient.
