About Olivia Preston

I have a passion for editing that I haven't found anywhere else. More than that, my love for books has further cultivated my interest in the publishing industry, and as I've just completed a publishing internship, I'm looking for opportunities that will align my editing skillset with publications/publishing roles. With that said, I've been editing in some capacity during and since I graduated with an English degree in 2017. After workshopping countless peer manuscripts and receiving feedback on my own work, I moved on to a remote position where I became a Deputy Editor at Write My Wrongs. There, I synchronized projects of words each. I managed texts from rough draft to final manuscript, focusing on comprehensive draft revisions, client collaboration, and additional proofreading to ensure seamless workflows. I especially loved the fantasy manuscripts and applied extensive copy, line, and developmental edits so that the finished result would shine. In addition, I worked as a copy editor, where I delved a bit into copywriting for technical pieces. As this was a short-term position, I picked up a publishing internship with Future House Publishing to further sharpen my editing skills—I got a glimpse into the publishing world, and I absolutely loved the books I read. From here, I'm looking for a career home that will be more sustainable in the long term. I would love to discuss my experience and capabilities more, so please don't hesitate to reach out!
