About Olivia Quick

In 2021, I completed my Bachelor of Primary Education (Honours) and undertook an inquiry project. This investigation was conducted whilst on my final placement in regional South Australia and centralised around the role oral language has within the writing process. With a strong interest in literacy development, I was able to deepen my pedagogy whilst furthering my skills obtained from my previous studies of a Bachelor of Speech Pathology. I have worked in both government and private education sectors in various roles such as a graduate teacher, TRT, pre-service teacher, OSHC educator, tutor and mentor. These experiences have equipped me with fundamental skills to provide high quality education and achievement for all. Relationships remain at the forefront of my practice to ensure learning is meaningful for every student and inclusive of their linguistic, cultural and learning diversities. In knowing my students, I am able to implement responsive decisions to uphold a safe and inclusive learning environment; ensuring students feel valued and supported. With a particular interest in wellbeing, I am able to strengthen connection by embedding tools gained from my continual professional development within the areas of Restorative Practice and The Berry Street Model. My practice is founded upon weaving growth mindset within my teaching and allowing all to access content.
