About Olivia Shoemaker

I am a lifelong student, resourceful project manager and collaborative advocate helping stakeholders across the value chain promote resilient food & ag systems with strong interests in wellbeing, community and environment. I currently work at the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research as a scientific program associate, specializing in program administration and grant management in the Sustaining Vibrant Agroecosystems priority area. Collectively, my expertise in these areas can be attributed to a suite of opportunities and involvement spanning the Midwest US, Germany and Ecuador including: qualitative research working with perennial ag producers, database creation and visualization, refugee outreach and community building via cooking, an interest in agro- and gastrotourism, two small-scale organic farms, a vibrant farmers' market, a food co-op, an urban garden, community-supported agriculture (CSA), research co-cocreation with a range of stakeholders (producers, academia, industry, non-profits) and a great deal of inspiration from leaders small & large throughout this space.
