About Olivia Smith

I recently graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with my Doctorate in Child Development. I take pride in being a researcher with integrity, commitment, a scholarly approach, and integration. My areas of interest include goals to better understand family relationships and children's socioemotional outcomes. My current focus investigates marital conflict, parenting practices, and family stress in parent-child relationships. I also serve as the Student/Early Career Council Representative to the International Affairs Committee for the Society for Research in Child Development. Our committee is consistently working to identify and implement organizational changes that might benefit the student and early professional membership. The Student and Early Career Council’s (SECC) overarching goal is to foster the development of student and early career scholars who are the future of interdisciplinary research on infant, child and adolescent development in diverse contexts and across life-long trajectories. I look forward to being apart of more advocacy programs in the near future as part of my professional career goals!
