About Olivia Whelan
I hold a dual bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science and Criminology which I obtained in 2011. I was initially employed as a Mortuary assistant on a temporary part-time basis in July 2012 based at Nambour General Hospital, Sunshine Coast before gaining a full-time role with Forensic and Scientific Services (FSS) Coopers Plains, Brisbane in 2013 to 2018. During that time I assisted with high profile cases at Cairns and Gold Coast mortuaries. I relocated to Melbourne in 2018 where I worked at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine. Initially as a forensic technician then as a senior forensic technician. I had the opportunity to be deployed to Samoa in 2019. I then relocated again back to Qld where I’m now back at FSS full time.
