About Oliviah Chitima

Oliviah is a warm, skilled and empathic counsellor with over 7 years’ experience working in a range of settings, including secondary schools, special intervention settings and private practice. Having completed her Masters in Counselling at Monash University and becoming a full member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), Oliviah has specialist training in providing effective therapeutic counselling for adolescents, adults, couples and families. Oliviah is a respectful and compassionate counsellor who works alongside her clients as a patient, caring and insightful guide. All clients receive a warm, nonjudgmental and confidential environment. Oliviah assists individuals identify their goals and core issues underlining their thoughts, emotions and beliefs. She supports clients to harness their inner strengths, learn new skills, and celebrate successes along the path to personal growth and achievement. Clients leave counselling with a renewed sense of self-confidence and clarity, aware of the choices and positive changes that lead to a happier, more productive life. Oliviah takes an integrative approach in her counselling practices. She uses a variety of evidence-based techniques tailored to every client’s personal needs and goals. Her therapeutic practices include; Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology, Mindfulness, Systemic Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Oliviah currently works in a secondary school as well as private practice. She believes in the importance of liaising and collaborating with schools and working closely with parents and family members to provide the best support for young people. She also provides support for families and parenting- related concerns. Oliviah is experienced in running group programs, seminars, professional development for school staff, and workshops for young people and parents.
